Why did I stop participating in SETI@home?

I just decided to stop participating in SETI@Home. OK, I believe there’s life out there… Why not. But look, does it make any sense to search for other civilizations in the Universe? Our Universe keeps expanding with geometric speed. Even if we get any message from aliens, then it would mean, their civilization doesn’t exist anymore. Or case number 2, if we reply to their message, then it will take million or billion years before they receive our message and we the human beings are the past like dinosaurs then. hmmm, isn’t that more like monolog than dialog? Maybe it’s better to participate in other projects like Folding@home, to solve the problems with different diseases like, let’s say… for example, Cancer?
